What we collect, and what we don't
Short version: we collect anonymous product analytics so we can tell whether this test is any good. We never sell it, and we never ask who you are.
We never ask for
- Your name
- Your email address
- A password or account
- Your contacts, location, camera, or microphone
There is no sign-up. Your browser is given a random anonymous ID by Firebase so we can tell a repeat visit from a new one. It is not linked to you, and we cannot use it to find out who you are.
What we do collect
- Your answers to the habit questions
- Your performance on the three timed tasks, and your confidence rating
- Your resulting score and which signal was strongest
- How long you spent on each step, and where you stopped if you didn't finish
- Whether you rated the result as accurate, and any message you choose to send
- Whether you were on mobile, tablet or desktop, and which site linked you here
That last group is what tells us whether people finish, whether they believe the result, and which step loses them. Without it we would be guessing.
What we deliberately don't collect
- Your IP address is not stored
- Your exact screen size, timezone, or full browser fingerprint
- The full address of the page that linked you — only the site name
- Anything at all about your activity on other websites
Each of these would buy us very little and would turn an anonymous record into something that could single you out. That trade isn't worth making.
Free-text messages
If you send us a message about your result, it is stored separately from your answers and is not linked to them in a way we display. It's the one field you can type anything into, so please don't include anything that identifies you — we'd rather not hold it.
Who else sees it
Data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore), which processes it on our behalf. We also send anonymous event counts to Google Analytics so we can see the funnel.
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to build a profile of you. There is no third-party ad tracking on this site.
Your result link
Your results page has a private, unguessable URL. Anyone you send that link to can see that score — so only share it with people you'd actually tell. Nobody can find it without the link.
Getting it deleted
Because everything is anonymous, we have no way to look you up by name. If you want a specific result removed, send us the results URL and we'll delete that record and anything attached to it.
One more time, on the score
MindCheck is a consumer self-assessment, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or screen for any condition, and the score is not a clinical measure.
